Life Hurts

There are days when I just wish I could toss all my physical and mental pain away and live a life without pain.  Like it's not bad enough that my body hurts so bad I sometimes don't move trying to keep the pain at bay but there is the mental pain.  I think these mental pains change depending on where you are in your life.  Like when you are a child there are all those mental pains over friendships, growing, and finding out who you are and what you can do.  There is heartache too that goes along with dating and love.  We think that once we find our true love that all our heartache will be over but really it's just beginning.

When we have children we ache for them when they hurt and try to help them through their problems.  We wish we could take all the pain away from them when in fact doing that would cripple them.  Pain, be it emotional of physical, is a fact of life.  When you are able to manage and get through tough times you become stronger and better at coping when the…

Small Miracle

It's finally happened and I can't be more thrilled!  The son has found a part-time job.  After over a year of doing almost nothing he will now have to go to work in a deli.  He doesn't start his training until the 19th.  The only thing I'm not thrilled about is I will probably be the one having to drive him back and forth to work.  Our bus system does not always have buses at all times of the day and none at night.  It's pretty hard to catch a bus when they are so few and far between.

Once we get a schedule for him we will take a look at the bus schedule and see if he can catch it some times.  This spring he is going to have to get his license because I will not be driving him to work forever.  The daughter will also have to get her license and then they can fight over our one crappy car.  Maybe we will be able to afford to get another car and have two between all four of us.  One can always dream.

I'm Doing Everything Wrong

That's the kind of day I'm having.  I'm sure we've all had them before.  Please tell me they go away soon cause I need to get on with doing stuff right, life is too short for all this wrong.

A Day in the Life

I hardly slept all night and was hoping I'd get to sleep in but alas that was not to be.  The phone jarred me out of a sound sleep at 7am and then cats wanting to be fed, having to go outside and my day had begun cause there was no way I could go back to sleep now when I was fully awake.

So I mentally adjusted my plans and thought I'd take a late shower and enjoy some quiet internet time.  Once again the phone interrupted my plans.  It was my mom phoning for some help with their driveway.  All that lovely snow we got is now fast melting and the snowplow had plowed the end of their driveway in with heavy ice balls.  They own a snowblower but you can't use it on that kind of snow.  So I woke up the son and we both threw on some clothes and off we drove to shovel all that heavy snow out of the end of their driveway so they could get their car out and make their afternoon appointment.  I have to say I did help a bit but 20 shovels of heavy snow defeated me and I ended up just …

A Cold Bug Got Me For New Year

My throat felt off on New Year's Eve but I thought it may be just irritated because our furnace has been running almost nonstop.  It's been cold but not unusually so, nothing below -10C mostly around -6C at night but even that means our furnace runs every 10 minutes just to keep the house at 15C.  I think I may turn the heat down to 14C tonight.  All that blowing dry air wreaks havoc with my sinuses.  I wish our house had some kind of insulation other than just air between the walls.

Now I have a full on cold with annoying cough.  Last night I was so hot I actually had to lay with no covers on for awhile.  Must have been a pretty good fever going on.  I survived to try to make some tea and soup.  The husband is home but never actually tries to help.  When anyone is sick I always make sure they get lots of orange juice, soup, tea, toast and whatever healthy foods they like.  I also am always giving them glasses of water to make sure they keep hydrated.  When I'm sick I'…

2016 is Here!

A brand new year is here finally.  I can say goodbye to 2015 which was an okay year but not great.  I don't make resolutions but I do have plans.  I guess that's kind of the same thing but in my mind plans are more likely to happen than resolutions which are always dropped within a couple of months.

This year the daughter graduates high school so we have that celebration to do.  Somehow we'll have to find the money for a dress and all the stuff like shoes, hair, make-up not to mention gifts.  She's still not sure if she wants to go to school right away after but I'll convince her to at least apply to a few places so she has an option to go if she wants to.  So many wonderful big changes for her this year.

For the son I just hope he finds a job soon.  He can't keep sitting in his room all the time.  He's a great kid if he just had a bit more drive he'd have it all.  I keep reminding myself that things work themselves out over time and not to get too upse…
