Well it's summer. Ya I don't like summer much and I think I've written about it before. We have an old house with not enough insulation so it's like living outside in a tent all summer except it doesn't cool off as much at night. We have window a/c units that run continuously and make a huge amount of noise. Any day that is cool enough for me to turn those noisy things off is a day I'd mark on the calender!
This spring was pretty mild and we didn't get the high temps that we had last year, thank goodness. The weather people say that we got less rain this spring than is normal but I've lost track of what normal is now and just hope for cool days. July has been okay up till now. We are almost hitting 40C every day now and for the last week we've had incredible thunder and lightening storms just about every night. Too bad it doesn't rain much with these storms but I know other areas are getting rain, just not here. We live in a valley that has it's own climate. The heat from the valley rises and pushes clouds around the edges so we don't get alot of rain.
Sleep becomes something we'd all like more of. It's either too hot to sleep or you have a noisy a/c unit blowing cold air on you all night which dries out your mouth and nose. So if it's too hot to turn the a/c off I end up waking up and turning it off in the middle of the night. Then I have to open some windows and turn some fans on. Then when the sun rises I have to close our window a bit cause the sun shines right on my face and I don't want to get sunburn while I sleep! If you try to sleep in it heats up fast and you have to get up, shut the window, turn off the fans and turn on the a/c. This means I'm up at least twice most nights and with that and the heat of the day I'm cranky. Staying inside most of the day because of the heat isn't fun either. Our house is small, 800 sq. ft. and 4 people live here. Add a couple of the kids' friends and I end up prowling the house wondering if sitting in the kitchen looks weird. The only other place to sit is the bathroom. I could go lay on my bed but that's boring and I'd just end of going to sleep and the kids would be up to wake me up by asking me a million questions. This would make me even more cranky.
I did laundry today and hung it to dry. Well the last load was all my husbands clothes so I made him hang it up to dry cause he was being a shit again. Our toilet is broken and he won't fix it. We only have one toilet and it doesn't work properly. If I had any money I'd hire someone to fix it but I have no money. The tap in the bathroom drips constantly too and the dishwasher won't dispense it's soap. If my lottery ticket doesn't win big money I'm going to have to sell one of the kids to fix the toilet! Believe me I'm about ready to sell somebody to get something fixed in this dump. My husband doesn't think having working appliances and toilets is important. He'll spend 6 hours trying to fix something and then end up only making it worse. He doesn't know his limitations and won't admit he's a moron when it comes to fixing stuff. What is it with men anyway? Us women know you are all fools so why try to hide it anymore? You aren't fooling anyone!
See I warned you I'm cranky. If you know anyone who's not too bad looking and can fix things please send him over here, we need him big time!
