I don't why Americans are so afraid of having proper health care. They are all up in arms because Obama wants everyone in his country to have proper medical care. The people opposing this must either be insane or just totally nuts. Don't they know their country has one of the highest infant mortality rates for a developed country? Don't they know that their medical system is the most expensive and that large groups of their population have no health care?
Now one of the ways they are justifying their views is to take a few cases from Canada where our medical system didn't do a very good job or a person wasn't happy with how they were cared for. They hold these cases up as the norm here. How stupid can you be! If they really want to know what the medical system is like up here why don't they talk to the average person instead of some disgruntled one? And by the way that woman who you've been seeing all over the US telling you how bad the Canadian health system is, well it's her Dr. who failed her and not the medical system. If her Dr. had wanted her to get the tests she says she needed so badly then he should have put her at the front of the line. Seems to me she has a bone to pick with her Dr. and not the medical system. It's the Dr's here who decide who gets what and how fast.
I'll tell you that on whole our system works pretty well. It's not perfect but nothing is. Sometimes people have to wait for tests or procedures if it's not life threatening. Everyone has health care though and no one goes broke from being sick or having an accident to pay for medical bills. Our health care system costs are low compared to the US and we have health care for everyone! Imagine that you Americans! Health care that is affordable and everyone can have it.
Maybe Americans just suffer from a lack of imagination cause they sure are squealing like little piggies about Obama's health care reform. I just hope the squealers don't lose their insurance anytime or get sick with a long term health problem or have a horrific accident cause they could have their finances wiped out in one fell swoop.
If American is the richest or one of the richest countries in the world why can't they take care of their own people? One word, greed. Someone is making money and they don't want that taken away. Where are the American people's values? I know so many so called good church going people who believe they should give to the poor but that doesn't include health care. Why? Why treat your fellow man like an animal? Why not make it a right for every person to have proper medical care without fear of becoming financially bankrupt to get it? Greed and fear.
The Americans I know are running scared. If they have good insurance they are afraid what might happen. They've seen people who lost their medical coverage and what happened to them. The fear keeps them from doing the right thing.
I've know a couple of Americans who have chronic health problems and could not get medical coverage in the US. Is that the system you want to be a part of? To deny a person medical care because they can't afford to pay for it seems a cruel and unusual punishment from such a so called advanced and rich country.
