Summer Fun, Not!

Well of course it has to happen this way. The kids were off to the grandparents for a few days. My husband planned to move bedrooms around and put our daughter upstairs. This involved moving everything out of our storage room to make it into her bedroom. Then there was the flooring to deal with and new lights. We even managed to find a storage locker close and cheap for all those things we have that our house is too small to store. I even told my husband things went too well and I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. And sure enough it did.

Friday my husband was to go out to his parents house and spend a few days enjoying the lake with the kids and then bring them back on Sunday or Monday. Friday I started to feel real bad, nauseous and just not right. He left me at home and went anyway. I was supposed to be finishing up some of the little details to the big room makeover but never really managed it. My husband usually works weekends and had taken this one off so he could have a bit of a holiday. Well Sat he started to feel poorly too. We figured we had food poisoning because we had eaten out a couple of times. So my husband's mini holiday was a bust and it took us both about a week to get back to 100% only tonight to have our son get sick. So it looks like it was some kind of a stomach virus and not food poisoning. sigh

I haven't been out of the house in a month except to go food shopping. I was really looking forward to getting together with my sister who is off for the week but I'll be stuck at home looking after puking kids. Yup, "no good dead goes unpunished' they always say. My husband gets to go to work and get out of here but I'm stuck her permanently if feels like most days.

Are the viruses mutating to some weird new super bugs, is global warming doing something to me or the viruses, is my immunity really low or is this just a joy of getting older? I can't even remember ever having a stomach virus from the time I was a teen until about three years ago. Now every year I've had some nasty stomach bug at least once a year. I don't care what's causing this I am done with these viruses. If another one comes my way I dare it to try to infect me!!! I'll drink Lysol if I have to (just kidding) but I'm not getting another stomach virus. So if anyone has great ideas on how to combat stomach viruses and we do wash our hands and keep our bathroom clean and follow proper food storage and preparation so I need new ideas, herbal remedies or immunity boosters.

Excuse me I have to go check the bucket to make sure my son hasn't made a deposit while I've been on the computer. UG!
