Hellooooooooo?

Blogging seems to be dead now. Most of the people I used to read are gone or moved to another site and I can't find them. I haven't been writing either so not blaming anyone who has moved on but I do miss hearing about what everyone was doing and feeling. It made me feel connected and like I had another friend.

It's been a very hard year so far and I won't go into it other than to say a death in our immediate family, mental illness, job loss, flooding and surgeries. The worst part is the year isn't even over yet and I wake up each day dreading what new disaster is going to be foisted on us!

The weather has been not too hot for long. It did get into the low 40's but that didn't last so hopefully it won't get that hot again this summer. It's 33C right now outside in the shade and that's pretty normal for where we live. I'm not a fan of the hot weather so I'm glad when September rolls around and I can go outside and do stuff.

I am going to start a new pair of socks soon. I've learned to knit socks and it's amazing how you knit them on 4 double pointed needles. I haven't used the magic loop ones yet but maybe some day. I've also collected a bunch of fabric from my mother-in-law and am going to get back into sewing again, maybe a quilt or something. I may even make some simple clothes for myself like a long skirt or loose gypsy top.

My husband is still at his job working away. I'm the caregiver of a couple people now, nothing new there either. I've been reading lots lately. The book I'm reading right now is "We All Want Impossible Things" by Catherine Newman. I'm not sure I'm in the mood for this read but I'm going to finish it. It's about two life time friends and one is dying of cancer. It's not as depressing as it sounds but the death lingering in it is not something I'm quite up to reading but I will finish it anyway.

I'm an extremely dull and boring person so I don't really have much to write about but maybe I will tomorrow or the next day. If you keep reading you may find out! LOL!
