If I hear one more person complain about having to wear a mask or having to social distance I am gonna lose it! It's like people don't get it. Everyone learned to be safe when a horrible virus called AIDS came out. We all modified our behavior so we didn't get sick or die. We learned to put on sun screen so we don't get skin cancer. We are always learning new ways to stay safe from whatever threat is looming. It's the same thing for this Corona virus. You have to change your behavior to keep you and everyone around you healthy and alive.
Stop thinking of it as in inconvenience and whining about how you don't want to wear a mask and just want everything to go back to the way it was. It's not gonna do that anytime soon so get used to it and move on. Life is not that different but the level of whining I'm hearing from people is way out of proportion.
I'm pretty sure all the people who have lost a loved one to this virus would have really appreciated it if the person who gave the virus to their loved one had just know enough to wear a mask and stay at a distance from their loved one. It's too late for that person but not too late for everyone else so wear your mask, stay at a distance to other people, don't gather in large crowds, wash your hands, don't touch your face. It's not that difficult to save a life by not being a selfish jerk.
And to all the health care workers and other essential workers who have to put themselves and their families at risk every day so that we can all have what we need please don't put them at any more risk than they already have. This is not a game or a government manipulation. This is about a virus that has caused a pandemic and thousands of people are dying from it. I don't care if you believe the hype about this virus because this virus will take you and your loved ones down whether you believe it exists or not. And when one of your loved ones dies from this virus because you were an idiot and didn't take precautions I can only believe karma should take care of you. You deserve a special kind of hell for being a selfish idiot.
On a good note there have still been no cases of covid-19 in our local hospital. Unfortunately people here are not wearing masks out in public. Many people are just going back to regular life with little regard for social distancing. The stores are full again and both my kids work at a large grocery/department store where they are not supplied with masks. They can wear masks if they want to but must supply their own. And because few other employees are doing that they don't either. I've been told by them that many people aren't keeping their distance. I pray my kids stay safe and don't get sick. One never knows if you will be one of the unlucky ones who end up sick enough to need medical attention or worse to die from this nasty virus.
Right now I rarely go out, wear a homemade mask when I go out, wash my hands many times especially after going out or touching items that may have been touched by someone who has the virus like mail or packages. Most mail or packages I leave for a couple days in the basement and then open them. Nothing comes that is that important that they can't wait a couple of days before I open them. I'm not sanitizing my grocery packaging because that seems like too much but I always wash my hands after handling any grocery items.
I'm not perfect and I'm sure I make mistakes. I am doing my best though and if I learn of something new that medical professionals tell people helps I will take their advise because learning and growing to stay safe is what in intelligent person doing her best does.
